White Water & Snow Peaks Expedition North Greenland 2010
Update: Due to the Living On Frozen Water Expedition on Spitsbergen in 2010,
this Greenland Expedition is delayed for at least 1 year.
North Greenland is, like Spitsbergen, a very special arctic area.
North Greenland is a more remote area and it is difficult to get there.
Many things has to be arranged and many questions has to be answered.
But for sure there is white water and some interesting Mountainpeaks!!
I saw some pictures and a video of this area.
At one place there is white water beside the glacier and after the glacier, and probable
also on the glacier (like Spitsbergen).
One glacierfront is really spectacular. This glacierfront is ending on a
steep rock cliff. In the middle of the glacierfront the water is streaming
out under very high pressure (as can be seen at the logo for this trip).
Some mountainpeaks reach here almost the 2000 meter.
From these mountains you have an endless view over the sea-ice to the North.
So at the end of the river, the sea-ice will force you to stop!!! Very Special
In September 2008 I will start to organise this trip, I allready have the maps and
a very interesting book about this area.
